Lake Jeanette home construction started in the early 1990s. The Villages of Lake Jeanette, are comprised of 16 villages: Eastern Shores which has 182 lots in 5 villages, The Point at Lake Jeanette with 218 lots in 5 villages, Southern Shores with 387 lots in 3 villages and Northern Shores with 377 lots in 3 villages. There are 231 lots that are lake view and 934 lots that are non lake view. The proximity to the lake, lot and home size will determine the village and price point and range from the mid 300 thousands to 1 million plus. Each village is different- some are only brick, some have stucco finishes, there’s a variety of lot sizes, all have garages but some driveways are shared. Some of the villages even have an entrance to the hiking trails. There is a gated community called Eastern Shores Estates that has 9 homes which are the largest and most secluded. In many of the villages nothing has really sold since 2020 which means people really love it here and don’t want to move!

This is a gorgeous area! The lake provides a calming influence as soon as you catch a glimpse of its waters. Lake Jeanette was built in the 1940’s, has 5 miles of shoreline along the 270 acre man-made lake. It’s home to several species of fish just waiting to be caught. You can take small watercraft out on the lake, go kayaking, canoeing, paddle boarding or take a pontoon boat out to fish. You’ll enjoy watching an array of wildlife like: Blue Herons, Owls, Eagles, Ducks and a variety of other birds and deer. You may also see turtles sunbathing on logs in the lake.

The Lake Jeanette Marina is a private facility for homeowners that offers limited watercraft storage and a launch for small boats. The marina has nature trails for hiking, gazebos, picnic shelters, a playground, and pedestrian bridges to cross the lake and rent some small watercrafts necessary if you don’t own your own. Adjacent to the marina is the Lake Jeanette Swim and Tennis Club. The Club is a private swim, tennis and pickleball club for members and guests only. The club has 10 tennis courts and 6 pickleball courts. The club offers fitness programs, swim teams, and a variety of competitions and events throughout the year. Hi, it’s Jeff Valentino. In 2019 my 2 sons and I packed up and moved to Winston Salem from the suburbs of Chicago. We didn’t know one person here. I wished there was a resource for people like me who are considering a similar move, so I decided to make one!
