- Mack Trucks: Originally founded in Brooklyn, NY, and moved to Allentown, PA, in 1905. In 2009, the company relocated its headquarters to Greensboro.
- The Fresh Market: Founded in 1982 in Greensboro. Forty-one years and 160 stores later, Greensboro is still home.
- Biscuitville: A regional fast-food restaurant chain with 65+ locations across N.C., SC, and V.A. The company originated in Burlington, NC, and opened its first Biscuitville in Danville, VA. In 2007, the corporate headquarters relocated to Greensboro.
- Wrangler: It all began in 1897 in Greensboro. Fast forward many years, and Wrangler became part of Kontoor Brands, an independent publicly traded spin-off from V.F. Corporation, in 2019.
- Volvo Trucks: Volvo Trucks is one of the world’s leading heavy truck and engine manufacturers, and they maintain North America’s offices in Greensboro. North America is a significant market for the Volvo Group, representing about 27% of total 2021 sales. The Volvo Group employs more than 17,000 people in North America. It operates 12 manufacturing and remanufacturing facilities in seven U.S.
- Tanger Outlets: In 1981, Stanley Tanger opened the Burlington Manufacturer’s Outlet Center in Burlington. The company was incorporated as a real estate investment trust in 1993. Headquartered in Greensboro, Tanger invests in shopping centers containing outlet stores in the U.S. and Canada.
- Cook Out: Originated in Greensboro in 1989. There are now over 250 Cook Out restaurants in the U.S.
- Lee: The Lee denim jeans brand was first produced in 1889 in Salina, Kansas. Like Wrangler, Lee is owned by Kontoor Brands. Its headquarters moved from Kansas to Greensboro in 2019.
