“The Corner” of Lindley Park

Within the neighborhood district of Lindley Park is a collection of restaurants and shops along the historic corner of Walker and Elam, known as “The Corner.” It’s close to downtown and offers quick access to four restaurants, three bars, one grocery store, one coffee shop, one vintage store, and one catering business. College students and Lindley Park neighborhood residents frequent The Corner, and locals might point you to the area as it’s been a Greensboro staple for almost 50 years. Sticks and Stones Clay Oven Pizza

If you’re looking for a good pizza joint in the area, this is one to try! Sticks and Stones serves wood-fired pizza and is an excellent place for foodies with menu items like rosemary fries and interesting pizza topping combinations. There’s something on the menu for everyone, including kids and vegetarians.

Lindley Park Filling Station

A great neighborhood restaurant that many locals recommend! Lindley Park Filling Station is perfect for an outdoor patio lunch. They serve American food, like homemade soups, burgers, sandwiches, spirits, and beers.

Fishbones

Fishbones is, as you probably guessed, primarily a seafood joint. Tourists are often pleasantly surprised to find delicious seafood this far inland. The modern bar and grill offer diverse seafood options, Mexican dishes, and elevated pub grub. The restaurant features dark interior and eclectic iron artwork for decoration.

Emma Key’s

Emma Key’s is a restored 1950s barber shop turned restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily. Enjoy flat-top burgers and craft beers in the laidback, artsy, cute atmosphere. You can substitute your beef burger for a turkey or vegan patty burger at no extra charge! P.S. Don’t sleep on the breakfast, especially if you like Belgian waffles topped with fresh strawberries and Nutella.

Suds & Duds

What other bar offers laundromat services? Suds & Duds is a bar and coin-operated laundromat, but it doesn’t stop there! They also have an arcade with a pool table, a pinball machine, foosball, and other classic games. The bar serves basic staples of relatively cheap drinks such as domestic beers like Pabst Blue Ribbon, simple cocktails, and seltzer drinks.

Wahoo’s Tavern

Wahoo’s is a popular bar in Greensboro known for its friendly bartenders, affordable drinks, and live music. You’ll find many beers for around $2 and some mixed drinks for $4. The atmosphere is lively, especially when there’s live music. Tuesdays are open jam nights where anyone can bring their instrument and take the stage.

Common Grounds

Welcome to Common Grounds, the coffee shop of The Corner! Common Grounds serves delicious coffee and has Foothill Nitro Cold Brew on tap, and it doesn’t stop there. The shop also offers beer, wine, Foothills Nitro Cold Brew, and eight Blue Bell ice cream flavors! Whew! There’s a lot to take in when you walk into Common Grounds with its extensive collection of local art. Take advantage of the game room down a hallway in the back of the shop. Walking in, you’ll notice a stage that serves as extra seating during the day; however, in the evenings, it welcomes many local artists. Lindley Park Vintage

If you enjoy vintage finds, especially midcentury modern, you must check out Lindley Park Vintage. This little shop sells treasures of many kinds, including midcentury furniture, collectibles, art, vintage Pyrex bowls and glassware, ashtrays, clocks, and more. Most pieces are in excellent condition, so the prices are higher than those of your average consignment shop.

Reto’s Kitchen Catering

Reto Biaggi, owner and head chef of Reto’s Kitchen Catering, is a Swiss and French native chef who brings a global catering experience to the area. Reto’s Kitchen offers pickup and delivery catering for all events, from cocktail parties to large weddings. They also have a weekly menu to be chilled and reheated at home.
